Memphis Grizzlies: 3 Bench Players Needed To Beat The Los Angeles Clippers
By Chris Kern
Shelvin Mack
Shelvin Mack was one of the most surprising players to start the season. He has struggled recently but he is still a serviceable backup point guard.
So far this season he is averaging 9.4 points and 3.6 assists per game. He is doing that on 45% shooting from the field while also shooting 40% from three-point range.
Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams form one of the best second unit backcourts in the NBA. Mack will need to do his part because those two will as they do every night.
In the first meeting, this season Mack had eight points, four assists, and two rebounds in 25 minutes of action.
After having a stretch where he scored double-digits in seven of eleven games, including 14+ in four straight, he has only scored double figures once in the last seven games.
The Grizzlies have struggled recently and his struggles are a big reason why. They need him to step up like he was early in the season to give this team another scoring threat.
