The Role Players Lead The Memphis Grizzlies To Win Over The New Orleans Pelicans
By Chris Kern
Kyle Anderson
Kyle Anderson has been doing the dirty work all season but last night he finally got the chance to shine and be the man.
Coming into this game he was averaging just 6.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He had been making an impact defensively as well with his 1.2 steals and 0.7 blocks per game.
The Pelicans focused in on Conley defensively and it opened up lanes for Anderson to be aggressive. He got off to a good start and he rode that momentum to a huge day.

He finished the game with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists. This was just 1 point shy of his previous career-high.
For how much better he was offensively his defense was on another level as well.
He made countless plays on that end of the floor, especially down the stretch.
Anderson had three steals and three blocks in this game on a day where Memphis struggled at times on that end of the floor.
He was playing with confidence in this game which helped him have such a huge day.
A lot of his offensive struggled were getting to him so it was good to see him break out in such a big way.
He hit that wide open three-pointer but even then he didn’t want to shoot it seemed like. Once he decided to shoot he did make sure he was behind the line after having his toe on the line on a shot in the first-half.
The Grizzlies are playing well as a team together and are having a lot of fun together. They had that funk recently but they seem to be back playing their style of basketball.
It doesn’t matter who makes the plays or scores the baskets, every player is gonna give 110% every game. If they continue to battle on both ends of the floor Memphis will ride this momentum to a lot more wins.
