Ivan Rabb wasn’t able to find success with the Memphis Grizzlies this season. After being sent down to the G-League he has taken advantage of the opportunity.

Ivan Rabb played some this season with the Memphis Grizzlies but his role was very inconsistent. They often opted to play smaller lineups rather than giving him extra playing time.

He has played in nine games this season averaging 2.1 points and rebounds per game. He scored a season-high eight points in a home win over Washington which was during a seven-game stretch where he played in each game.

Even when JaMychal Green was hurt there were games that he didn’t play in. Now with him back and Joakim Noah now on the team his minutes are completely gone.

The team wanted to give him a chance to play so they sent him down to the G-League and he has been making the most of it.

Rabb has been a dominant force on the offensive end which gives fans some hope that he possibly could succeed in the NBA as well.

In his three G-League games this season he is averaging 24.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.

He has shown his ability to score the ball in a variety of ways by driving the ball to the basket as well as hitting shots from three-point range.

He has made two three-pointers per game while still shooting 55% from beyond the arc. That is something we didn’t see with the Grizzlies so maybe he will show that a little bit if he were to get called back up.

So far in his NBA career, he has only attempted one three-pointer which he took in a blowout win at home over the Phoenix Suns earlier this season.

Despite his success with the Memphis Hustle, we shouldn’t expect him back playing meaningful minutes with the Grizzlies anytime soon.

The Grizzlies are in the playoff picture at the moment and will continue to do everything they can to keep winning games.

If the season goes south then Rabb would likely get another shot but that isn’t anywhere near happening.

Memphis is 15-10 and for the most part, they’re playing very good basketball. If Rabb can play well all season long then this could mean he sticks around for next season and possibly for the long haul.

Though it is just three games it’s still a good accomplishment and could be a sign of things to come for the rest of this season.
