Anthony Tolliver

When thumbing through a list of the NBA’s prime “three-and-D” skill sets, you absolutely have to acknowledge the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Tolliver.

Starting the season with the hot hand, Tolliver has recently been pushed to the bottom of the Wolves’ rotation following the infamous Jimmy Butler trade, which placed Robert Covington and Dario Saric into immediate impactful roles in Minneapolis.

Anthony Tolliver has appeared in just three of the Timberwolves’ last 14 games. While he could be assisting a contending team, Tolliver continues to waste away on Minnesota’s bench. Prior to the Butler trade, his game was flourishing, even at the age of 33.

Through his team’s first 14 contests, Tolliver was shooting 40.4% from beyond the three-point arc. This is coming off of a season (as a member of the Detroit Pistons) showcasing a 43.6% long-range accuracy.

When it comes to playing team basketball, Anthony Tolliver’s game oozes grit and grind. He places defense at the top of his priority list, and to top it all off, he has a knack for spacing the floor and knocking down open shots. His 6’8,” 250-pound stature allows him to play multiple positions, too.

It appears inevitable that the Minnesota Timberwolves will find a new destination for Tolliver, and it should not take very long at all. His three-point percentage alone should turn NBA executives’ heads. Plus, his one-year, $5.75 million contract is very manageable.
