Dillon Brooks’ return to action for the Memphis Grizzlies is imminent as he has healed ahead of schedule.

After suffering a left knee sprain in the Memphis Grizzlies’ November 10th home victory over Philadelphia, swingman Dillon Brooks looks to return to the hardwood ahead of schedule.

The earliest Brooks can return to the Grizzlies’ lineup is Sunday as the team travels to face the Los Angeles Lakers. Memphis’ most recent injury report states Dillon is “questionable” against the Lakers.

The Memphis Grizzlies need their squad as full-strength as possible in order to compete with L.A. In the first meeting of the season between these two clubs, the Lakers got out to an early double figure lead and never looked back. Memphis was unable to convert on many open looks, and that trend continued through four quarters on their home floor.

Dillon Brooks was absent for the first Grizzlies versus Lakers battle, which is a major key to the game given his success in defending LeBron James last season.

Brooks is a two-way threat that the Memphis Grizzlies have been desperately needing as of late. Though he began the 2018-19 season shooting poorly from the field, his all-around performance was on an increase prior to the injury.

After playing all 82 regular season games as an NBA rookie in 2017-18, he has already been absent for 21 meetings. It has been a vastly different sophomore season for Dillon Brooks, but there is plenty of time to make amends.

In addition to the Dillon Brooks news, it is a positive sign to see just one player listed as “out.” Chandler Parsons has no set timetable for a return, but he has been joining Dillon Brooks in similar shooting exercises and on-court activity within the past week. This is another item worth watching closely as the month of December comes to a close.
