Good Rebounder

Stokes has been a really good rebounder for a long time. He was one of the best rebounders in the country while in college.

He averaged 10.6 rebounds in his junior season in what ended up being his final collegiate season. His ability to rebound the ball on both ends of the court gives him a chance to see the floor sometime this season with the Grizzlies.

It’s hard to predict what his role could end up being because players on two-way contracts typically get very little impact but his rebounding could at least give him a chance.

We all know how much this team struggles to rebound the basketball. Their 39.4 rebounds are dead last in the NBA.

It is an area they have to improve in going forward and if Stokes can help even a little bit in that department then this signing is a positive.

So far in his 57 career G-League games, he has averaged 10.1 rebounds per game including 3.7 which coming on the offensive end of the floor.

The Grizzlies as a team only average 7.6 offensive rebounds per game. With the offensive struggles they have, getting someone who could get this team extra possessions would be big.

Stokes has continued to evolve his all-around game but his rebounding may be his biggest strength. We’ll just have to wait and see how much of an impact he makes this season.
