The Memphis Grizzlies have been struggling recently and the players are frustrated, so much that Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi were involved in a physical altercation.
The Memphis Grizzlies are not playing good basketball, there’s no doubt about that. They continue to lose games and it’s only getting worse.
With Wednesday nights loss to the Detroit Pistons, the Grizzlies have fallen below .500 for the first time since they were 0-1.
The players are frustrated and it escalated so much so into a physical altercation between two veteran players in Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi.
They’ve been a teammate in Sacramento before this season so it’s a bit odd for this to happen between these two players but it’s a perfect example of all the frustration the players are experiencing.
Both of these players have had some good moments this season but they both could do more to help the team.
Temple started off the season so well and he has really struggled recently as has most of this team. Despite some recent struggles, he is still averaging a career-high in scoring at 10.4 points per game.
Since a 12-5 start in which they were on top of the conference, the Grizzlies are 6-14. They were one of the surprise teams to start and now they’re playing just as everyone predicted they would.
During that stretch, they’re averaging just 100.3 points per game while allowing 104.1 points. They just don’t seem to be enjoying the game like they were early in the season.
This might not be a big deal between these two players but it shows the issues that the team is dealing with. If they want to get back on track they need everyone to be on the same page otherwise this is going to be a long season for Memphis.
