3 NBA Draft Prospects The Memphis Grizzlies Could Select To Pair With Jaren Jackson Jr.
By Chris Kern
RJ Barrett
Now RJ Barrett is the only one of these three prospects who would be very unlikely the Grizzlies would have a chance to draft. Uproxx has him going 2nd overall.
Anything can happen in the lottery so it’s interesting to think about what type of fit he would be. He is a good all-around player and has been compared to James Harden often.
He has the ability to score the ball from anywhere on the floor and is very Harden like when attacking the basket.
So far through the first 12 games, he is averaging 23.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He does it all for a Duke team that is the top-ranked team in the country.

There have been a few games this season where he put on an absolute show. In the season opener against Kentucky, he put up 33 points in a blowout win.
He has shown some weaknesses in his game though that could leave some scouts concerned. His 32% shooting from three-point range worries some but it’s not a huge issue at all.
In the loss to Gonzaga, he was struggling down the stretch for whatever reason he was unwilling to pass the ball to his teammates.
He missed multiple contested shots when if he would’ve hit even one they possibly win the game. He will learn from it but it’ll be interesting to see how he performs late in close games during ACC play.
Barrett has shown everybody his NBA potential. He has a chance to be special and maybe, somehow that will be in Memphis.
