5 Players The Memphis Grizzlies Can Build Around For The Future
By Chris Kern
Dillon Brooks
Dillon Brooks got off to a slow start this season but he has since started to play well and is looking like the player we saw last season.
He is averaging 7.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. His shooting percentage is down a bit from last year but his three-point percentage is up to 38% after making 36% last season.
His ability to create plays on the offensive end makes him a real threat for a team that is very limited offensively.
He is a guy who isn’t afraid to take tough shots and he has the confidence to make big plays when needed. It takes more than just confidence to succeed but on a team like the Grizzlies who have struggled lately having someone who has the confidence to get themselves a bucket is huge.
It’s tough to predict what kind of role he may have going forward but anybody who plays hard and can make shots as he can has what it takes to be in an NBA rotation for a long time.
Obviously, the goal for him is to be much more than that but this team has so few young players they can build around so you have to take what you get.
He is a guy who will continue to improve as you can see how hard he has worked to get to this point in his career so there’s no reason to expect that to change.
His ability to make plays on both ends off the floor has led to him making a big impact early on in his career which has all Grizzlies fans excited about what the future brings for him.
He is a perfect fit in the city and with the team. If Memphis is going to keep the grit n’ grind 2.0 mindset going forward then Brooks should be a part of this team for a long time going forward.
