Memphis Grizzlies News: Bruno Caboclo Expected To Sign Multi-year Deal To Remain With The Team
By Chris Kern
The Memphis Grizzlies have made many bad decisions in the past but they are starting to turn things around. Signing Bruno Caboclo to a multi-year deal is the right move to make.
The Memphis Grizzlies don’t have a lot of young players to build around for the future and it feels like they may have found a gem. They signed Bruno Caboclo to two separate 10-day contracts and now he is set to sign a multi-year deal with the team.
He hasn’t been the most efficient player on the offensive end but he still continues to shoot the ball with confidence so that’s all you can ask out of a young player. His ability to make plays on the defensive end is at an elite level in this league.
On the season he is averaging 6.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. His shooting percentages are an area he needs to improve in going forward as he is making just 33% of his shots including 25% of his three-point attempts.
He has a lot to work on if he is going to become a part of the Grizzlies long-term plans but in just a couple of weeks, he has already shown his potential that made him a first-round draft pick.
His best game of the season was in a loss against Oklahoma City in which he finished with 16 points and 5 rebounds. In that game, he made six of nine shots including three of his five three-point attempts.
While he has struggled in a variety of areas he has been able to provide a spark for a team that has been really struggling. He will need to get adjusted to his new teammates yet again. Right, when he was settling into his role the Grizzlies made big changes now he has to get settled in yet again.
It’s hard to predict that Caboclo will have a successful career but he has earned this roster spot in Memphis. If he can continue to improve his game and play with the effort he has then we can expect to see him on the Grizzlies for a long time.
