Mike Conley Deserves To Be In The All-Star Game
It wasn’t enough to get the team a win but Mike Conley showed yet again why he deserves to be an all-star. He isn’t going to be voted in by the fans so his chances aren’t great but his play has been stellar so he is at least in the conversation.
His ability to score the basketball was on full display as he put up 26 points on 9-18 shooting which includes his 4-9 shooting from three-point range.
He did have just four assists in this game which isn’t a great number for him and is thought of as one area he has struggled in this season.
His ability to score down the stretch is what makes this team go but in this close game today he didn’t perform as you would normally expect.

In this close game they needed their leader to take over and well he did make a couple of shots, they needed more to match Irving’s production.
His numbers are all-star worthy without a doubt. The Grizzlies being in 14th place in the western conference would be what keeps him from being selected.
If the Grizzlies were even in the top 10 of the west or so his chances would be a lot better but the team’s recent struggles very likely will be the determining factor.
On the season he is averaging 20 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Despite starting the season off struggling to make shots he is still making 42% of his shots and 36% of his three-pointers.
There’s a long list of deserving candidates in the West who won’t make it to the all-star game. Whether Conley makes it or not, we all know he is an all-star caliber player.
