Memphis Grizzlies News: Bruno Caboclo Signed To A 10-Day Contract

The Memphis Grizzlies continue to search for answers to help this team. They have signed Bruno Caboclo to a 10-day contract.
The Memphis Grizzlies have finally made a move with their open roster spot. Bruno Caboclo is coming to Memphis on a 10-day contract.
He started off his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors after they selected him with the 20th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
He was a guy who the team had high hopes on. It was a risky pick for them but many felt he had a chance to be a star in this league.
He has played in just 35 NBA games so far in his career with having little to no impact in each of those. The majority of his time has been spent in the G-League where he has been making a big impact.
In 142 career G-League games he is averaging 13.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. He has started 125 of those games as well.
His shooting percentages have continued to improve throughout his career and that has led to him having his best season. He was named G-League player of the week earlier today.
In 28 games this season he is averaging 52% shooting overall which includes his 43% from three-point range. Both are well above his career averages of 42% and 35% respectively.
His defense has gone to a different level as well. He is averaging 3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game this season.
His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is why he is being given this opportunity with the Grizzlies.
Memphis doesn’t have a lot of young players they can go with for the future with so if he can earn a roster spot for the rest of the season then maybe he could be around long-term.
He is still just 23 years old so he is more than capable of becoming a good NBA player. It’s unlikely he will make a big difference on this season’s team but anything he can bring will help.
The Grizzlies are a mess as of late so it’s a good sign they are bringing in a new face. This team is still destined for the lottery but maybe just maybe, Caboclo can start to live up to his potential in Memphis.
