NBA Trade Rumors: 3 Teams Interested In Memphis Grizzlies’ Garrett Temple And JaMychal Green

The Charlotte Hornets are a team that really wants to make the playoffs. They’re going to do everything they possibly can to prove to Kemba Walker they can build a competitive team around him.

They have made the playoffs just twice in Walker’s time in Charlotte and have never won a playoff series. The franchise hasn’t won a playoff series since the 2001-02 season.

While many feel they should try and acquire a star player that may not be very realistic for them. They have so many bad contracts that very few opposing teams would consider taking on.

Walker did get knocked out of Friday night’s game due to a neck/back injury so if he is out for an extended period of time they likely won’t be buyers at all.

The Grizzlies may be one of the few teams who would do that as long as the Hornets attach a draft pick or a young player to go with it.

Many feel this a possible landing spot for Gasol but at the moment we have no reason to believe they are interested in making that happen. They are reportedly interested in other Grizzlies’ players though.

It’s hard to see if they want both Green and Temple but the Hornets could benefit from having both on their team so it’s possible.

This team needs more guys who contribute on both sides of the ball. They don’t have guys who make an impact consistently especially scoring the ball.

Green is averaging more than everybody on the Hornets roster except two players. That is Walker and Jeremy Lamb. This team doesn’t have a lot of offensive threats.

Neither of these two will put up big numbers but they both are good defenders which would help as well. If this team isn’t going to make a big deal for a star then these two could be perfect additions.

They do have multiple bad contracts they could trade to acquire both of these players and it would be a pretty simple deal to get done. That is if they’re willing to give up a first-round pick.

Bismack Biyombo and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist are both guys who could be involved in a deal. If they want some extra cash this summer to help bring in more pieces to put around Walker this is a way they could do that.

Biyombo and a lottery protected 2019 first-round pick for Temple and Green would be more than enough to get this done. The Hornets have so many other bad contracts that clearing cap space may not be a priority for them but either way, this is a potential deal that could help out both teams.
