NBA Trade Rumors: Predicting Moves By Memphis Grizzlies Prior to NBA Trade Deadline
Take One
Chance of Trade: 80%
Chris Kern: “I would say there’s close to a 100% chance at a trade happening for Memphis before the NBA Trade Deadline, but then again, we’ve seen this franchise make so many mistakes with this in the past.
Last season even we saw the Tyreke Evans blunder when they should’ve traded him for at least a second round pick. They even sat him out of games to keep him healthy and still didn’t trade him.
The big NBA trade rumors are surrounding Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, though, that’s for sure. While it’s very possible that one or maybe even both of them get traded before the deadline, a couple of guys who could possibly be traded are Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green.
They have had up and down seasons, but have definitely shown their worth. A lot of playoff teams could use guys like these two to add to their second units. Their ability to hit shots and defend multiple positions make them a valuable piece.
While there may be some other players who could be traded as well it is these four at the top of the list. If I had to pick one off this list to be traded, I would have to go with Green.
While there hasn’t been a long list of teams showing interest in him at the moment, I am sure there are many teams considering it internally. Once any team decides they want him, it likely would be fairly easy for a team to make a deal.

We have the NBA trade rumors that the Houston Rockets are looking to attach a first round pick to get rid of Brandon Knight’s contract, which is something the Memphis Grizzlies should take. They could easily trade Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green to Houston to make the salaries work and it would be a good move for both teams.
In any trade for Green or Temple, it is very unlikely they would receive a first round pick in compensation even if they were paired together. The Grizzlies need to take on the additional money to get another asset. It’s not like they’ll need that money in Free-Agency this year either.
They need to stockpile as many assets as possible and that includes any trade they make. Getting Chandler Parsons‘ contract off their books would be nice, but it shouldn’t be a priority.
The Memphis Grizzlies’ focus should be on getting as many young players and picks as possible. Another very possible trade is Conley being sent to the Utah Jazz with Ricky Rubio coming to Memphis. If they were able to get back a first round pick and a young player like Grayson Allen in that deal, that would be amazing and something they should accept with no hesitation.
There are a lot of possibilities for trades and while it seems as if one will happen, I will say there’s about an 80% chance of a trade happening. I’m optimistic one will happen, but with Chris Wallace making these deals I’ll need to see it too believe it.”
