Memphis Grizzlies News: Marc Gasol Is Heading To Toronto

The Memphis Grizzlies have been considering options for Marc Gasol for a while now. Instead of going to Charlotte as expected he is on his way to Toronto.

Marc Gasol was nearly on his way to Charlotte but now that is not happening. The Memphis Grizzlies are sending their star big to the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptors have felt pressure after seeing other teams in the east get better. They are confident in their chances to win the east and with Kawhi Leonard‘s free agency this summer they are trying to do whatever it takes to get him to stay.

They didn’t get the first-round pick they were coveting but they got some solid players who can be a part of their future. Jonas Valanciunas and Delon Wright are two guys who could be in Memphis for a long time.

Valanciunas will be paired with Jaren Jackson Jr. for the long haul. It’ll be interesting to see how they fit together but this also helps the Grizzlies stay somewhat competitive for the rest of this season.

Wright is a solid young guard who has the potential to be the point guard of the future in Memphis. At the very least he should be a rotation piece going forward.

This is the start of the Grizzlies moving forward. It’ll be interesting to see how this team adjusts their roster for the rest of this season as they’re bringing in two additional players in this trade.

Bruno Caboclo is on his second 10-day contract and could be on his way out of Memphis if there isn’t a roster spot for him. It’ll be interesting to see how things play out over the next day or so.
