The Memphis Grizzlies have completely changed their roster at the NBA trade deadline. We take a look at each player and what to expect going forward.

The Memphis Grizzlies have completely retooled their roster at the NBA Trade Deadline as they made three separate trades in the final hour or two just before the deadline. The big deal though was the one that sent Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors.

It’s a sad day for the fans. He has been on this team for over a decade so there are a large number of fans who don’t know what Grizzlies basketball looks like without him.

It’s an even sadder day for him though. Gasol loved this team more than he could express and while he certainly will be excited to play for a contender he didn’t necessarily want to leave Memphis.

It had been reported he was going to the Charlotte Hornets instead but that deal fell through. The Raptors swooped in before the deadline and now are in a prime spot to win the eastern conference.

A lot of new faces will be coming to Memphis in the coming days and while they didn’t bring in the draft picks many were hoping for they did bring in a lot of quality players.

It’s still unclear what the Grizzlies plan is going forward but that will likely become more clear this summer. They bring in a couple of young guards on expiring contracts as well as a few guys who have contracts through next season.

While some fans will say this was a failed deadline by Chris Wallace that’s just not true. They retooled this roster and brought in some quality players who could be in Memphis for the long haul.
