C.J. Miles

C.J. Miles was a part of the deal that sent Gasol to Toronto. He is a good wing but he did struggle to find a consistent role with the Raptors this season.

It will be interesting to see if he opts into his player option next season. He will make $8.7 million next season which is more than he would make on the free agent market. Maybe he has an interest in going to play for a contender but that money will be tough to pass up on.

Miles is just 31 years old but he is currently in his 14th NBA season so it’s possible his time in the league could be coming to an end in the next couple of years.

In his 825 career games, he is averaging 9.6 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. He is known as a really good shooter and should fit in really well on this team. It’ll be interesting to see how much he plays though.

The Grizzlies have a lot of wings already on their roster who they like and seem to be a priority going forward with Bruno Caboclo and Justin Holiday. Miles is a career 41% shooter from the field while making 36% of his shots from three-point range.

This season is his worst statistical season in over a decade. He is averaging just 5.5 points in 14 minutes per game. He has played in 40 games in which he made 34% of his shots overall and 31% from deep.

His struggles this season will likely keep him from getting a big role but it will be interesting to see how things end up and how many minutes he takes away from the guys currently on the roster. It is important to note he also is competing with the other newcomers for minutes.
