Memphis Grizzlies: Breaking Down The Players Acquired At The NBA Trade Deadline
By Chris Kern
Avery Bradley
Avery Bradley was brought to Memphis in the deal that sent JaMychal Green and Garrett Temple to the Clippers. Predicting Bradley’s role is tough as he is currently having one of the worst seasons of his career.
His time with the Clippers was a big disappointment. During his 55 games with the team, he averaged just 8.3 points per game after averaging 13.9 or more for the past five seasons.
Health has also been a concern for him. During the past three seasons, he has played just 150 games. That’s still a good chunk but it is enough games missed to raise a little bit of concern.
His role going forward may be in question but he will likely play a big role this season. With Dillon Brooks out for the season, he has a good chance to be the starting shooting guard the rest of this year. He will have to battle with Holiday among others for those minutes. This is going to be a deep team so he will have to earn that role.

He is a tough-minded guard that should be a really good fit alongside Conley. With him being healthy he will have the inside track at securing a starting shooting guard spot going forward.
The starting shooting guard battle this offseason is going to be a lot of fun just as it was this past summer. This time though we should have some even better options.
Temple was a really good veteran but he wasn’t reliable enough to warrant being a starter, the team just didn’t have other choices.
The main two options will likely be Bradley and Brooks but don’t sleep on Holiday if they bring him back. Either way, this team should have a really good second unit.
The Grizzlies are hoping they can get Bradley to play as he did in Boston and if he does then they have a legit shooting guard to count on for the next five years or so.
It’s going to take time to mesh everyone together but depending how the pieces fit together and what they do this summer they very possibly could have a better team to start next season than they did at the beginning of this season.
