The Memphis Grizzlies brought in a lot of new faces and now they’ll have to fit an old face back in as well. Chandler Parsons is returning to the team after not being traded.

Chandler Parsons is coming back to Memphis. After the Memphis Grizzlies were unable to trade him away he is expected to return to the team after the all-star break.

This is going to be a long process for him to get reacclimated and playing again but they have a chance to get the new guys a few games under their belt before they have to fit Parsons back into the fold.

With his $25 million he is set to make next season when can expect this drama to continue. It’ll be interesting to see how much they play him as the newcomers have been making a big impact since he’s been gone.

Guys like Justin Holiday and Bruno Caboclo have shown their worth and absolutely deserve to be in the rotation. So many new players coming over in the trades so J.B. Bickerstaff will certainly have his hands full.

Parsons will have to stay healthy if he wants to stay in the rotation though. We can’t just say he’s going to be out there the rest of this season because we know there’s a strong possibility he gets injured again at some point.

This season he has only played in three games. Some of that is due to them just holding him out but a large chunk of it is because he was hurt. In his three seasons with the team, he has played in just 73 games.

It’s not like he’s been very effective when he’s out there either. In those 73 games, he is averaging just 7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. His two seasons prior with the Dallas Mavericks he averaged 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.

He never played a full 82 games in his NBA career but through his first five seasons, he did play more than 61 games in each of them.

This was a disaster of a signing for the Grizzlies but they are unable to move on from it. He is going to be in Memphis for the next season and a half so let’s hope he can give us at least a little bit of production.
