Marc Gasol’s Top Moments With The Memphis Grizzlies
By Chris Kern
Game 3 Vs The Warriors
Firat Akenser: Steve Kerr’s revolutionary changes to the Warriors’ playbook led them to an impressive 67-15 record in 2014-15 regular while laying the foundations of the Warriors dynasty. However, playoff games were where their new system would be put to a real test for the first time.
After sweeping the Pelicans in the first round, the Warriors were now up against a Grizzlies team coming off a 55-win season. The Warriors got the win against the Grizzlies in the opening game of the series and the Grizzlies bounced back nicely to tie the series at 1-1.
The third game of the series would be the only time the Warriors would fall behind in a series on their way to winning the title.
Gasol scored 21 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and shot 9 of 10 from the charity stripe. Although it wasn’t his most efficient game shooting-wise. The then 30-year-old hit an off-balanced shot from the top of the key at the end of the shot clock to extend the lead to eight with 2:05 left which was crucial it putting Golden State away.
The 99-89 victory was indicative of the team’s quality and made it clear the Grizzlies wouldn’t go down easily. Memphis would go on to lose the series in six games to the eventual champions but it was still a fun series nonetheless and it displayed what the Grit N’ Grind Grizzlies were all about.
