Marc Gasol’s Top Moments With The Memphis Grizzlies

Clipping The Clippers
Christian Dudley: The biggest, nastiest rivalry during the Memphis Grizzlies’ Core Four era came against the Los Angeles Clippers. Even today, when ultimately no bad blood exists, you cannot get a Grizz fan to say anything good about the Clips.
So on November 16th, 2016, though it was one of the more tame meetings between the Grizzlies and Clippers, Marc Gasol did not forget the past history between the two franchises. Therefore, after a magnificent triumph, he completely trolled the Los Angeles crowd after telling them to hold this L.
On Memphis’ final possession, Mike Conley was controlling the ball while attempting to make something happen within the Memphis Grizzlies’ offense. J.J. Redick was switched onto Mike Conley on the defensive side, creating the advantage for Memphis’ point guard. Conley drove past Redick with ease, and the Clippers’ interior defense collapsed onto him.
This left Marc Gasol standing in the left corner, a hair behind the three-point stripe. Uncontested. Mike Conley hit Gasol with the flawless pass, and Big Spain splashed the triple, drowning the Clippers’ hopes of victory. Perfection.
The biggest highlight from this game took place immediately after the three-point make by Gasol. He walked off, flailing his arms a la Connor McGregor. It was a harmless taunt from Marc, but trolling the Clips and their fan base is something that Grizz Nation ate it.
This triggered many memes on social media and even the creation of bootleg t-shirts that were selling like hot cakes. The image of Marc Gasol trolling the Los Angeles Clippers is a depiction that Grizzlies fans will remember forever along with the number 33.
