Marc Gasol’s Top Moments With The Memphis Grizzlies
By Chris Kern
Triple Overtime Thriller
Chris Kern: This game on December 17th, 2014 was one of the most competitive games in team history. The Grizzlies and Spurs have had so many great battles and this is near the top of the list for sure. They’ve faced each other so many times in the postseason as well which makes these matchups even that much for hyped up for.
This win for the Grizzlies improved their record to 21-4 and made the fans believe they were capable of doing something special that season. The playoffs didn’t go as expected but that game was an insane game to watch and take part in.
While there were many great moments it wouldn’t have even gone to overtime if it wasn’t for this absurd three-pointer by Marc Gasol. It was his only three-point attempt of the game as he wasn’t a good three-point shooter at this point of his career.
On the game as a whole, Gasol did lead the team in scoring with 26 points but it was a team effort that led to this win. Seven players scored between 14 and 26 points in this game.
Zach Randolph had a monster game as he finished with a 20-20 performance with 21 points and 21 rebounds. Randolph had all six points for Memphis in the third overtime period. He had many fantastic games during his career and this was one of them and it took place during an all-around great game for the Grizzlies.
These two formed one of the best big man duos in the NBA and this was one of many dominant performances they put together. They didn’t have the team success they wanted too but these two won over the hearts of all of Memphis during their time together.
