Memphis Grizzlies NBA Draft

As the Memphis Grizzlies gain ground on conveying their first-round 2019 NBA Draft pick, they may need to quickly reconsider.

With 12 regular season games remaining in the 2018-19 season, the Memphis Grizzlies are currently projected at seventh on the mock NBA Draft board. This means they are two spots and two games out of to conveying their first-round pick to the Boston Celtics at ninth overall.

Most fans of the Memphis Grizzlies have become fond of the convey-the-pick campaign. They still get to hope for wins even if ultimately meaningless. The wins give fans reason to celebrate and the Front Office a chance to punt on a Draft that requires more risk and possible development with most of this year’s Draft prospects not being as NBA-ready as one would hope.

As a result, the 2019 NBA Draft has been ruled subpar by “so-called” experts to which I disagree. This Draft has maybe three or four prospects ready to be serious contributors right away at the next level. Others have the potential, but may need more development and patience. There are some, too, that  may not have super potential, but are very talented and ready to contribute right away.

This is an NBA Draft that I would not necessarily dream of a five to eight pick, but I would trade for as many mid- to late-first- and second-round picks as I literally can snag. Not many — if any — guaranteed Day One stars exist, but there are countless potential sleepers and steals toward the middle of the Draft.
