April Fools’ Day comes around only once per yer, but it feels like it arrives with higher frequency for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Since their arrival in Memphis, Tennessee in 2001, the Memphis Grizzlies have endured their fair share of ups and downs. Occasionally, a decision has went awfully sour on them as if April Fools’ jokes came early.

Every NBA franchise has had those tough spells, bad decisions, and streaks of bad luck. If you are a supporter of the Memphis Grizzlies — especially those of 10+ years — then you know how rough life can be.

When it rains, it pours bad luck. That could not be more true of the Grizzlies at the NBA Draft. Plus, the same could be said about a handful of Memphis’ past trade attempts. You cannot leave out some of their decisions during NBA Free-Agency, too.

Looking back at all the happenings in Grizzlies team history, especially since relocating to Memphis from Vancouver, it actually is hard to believe the club has been so successful over the course of the current decade. They have overcome unfavorable odds many times to succeed and make a name for themselves — all while dodging their own bullets at times.

For the Grizzlies in 2019, they already have enough on their plate to worry about. From a hectic season littered with trades, youth development, significant injuries, and more, they do not need any April Fools’ jokes directed toward them. Their own decision-making skills have landed them in their current position, which happens to be a second consecutive season without a playoff berth.

Now, in no particular order, Beale Street Bears presents the top-five decisions in Memphis Grizzlies team history that we wish were April Fools’ jokes.
