NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 1.0
By Chris Kern
Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a very exciting player who often got overlooked on his team. He played for a very good Virginia Tech team that had a very successful season despite losing to Duke in the Sweet 16.
After having a solid freshman season he really took it to another level during his sophomore campaign. He averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. He showed he can impact the game in a variety of ways which he had not shown during his freshman season.
One weakness is the 2.9 turnovers he averaged, but that will happen when you have the ball in your hands more often. He does need to play a bit smarter, but it shouldn’t be a big concern going forward.
The Miami Heat would be a very good fit for him. With Dwyane Wade retiring they will have a need for another shooting guard and he could fill that role well. He has the ability to fit in on a team with more talented players and he would be able to play well alongside some of their talented players such as Goran Dragic and Josh Richardson.
