NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 1.0
By Chris Kern
Rui Hachimura is an exciting draft prospect who can do a lot of things to help any NBA team right away. He continued to improve during his time at Gonzaga and he took it to another level this season as he was one of the best players in the country.
He averaged 19.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. His ability to dominate the mid-range game will make him a valuable piece in an offense. He will need to extend it to the three-point line if he wants to become a starter one day, but he certainly can become a good rotational player off the bench.
If he were to get drafted by the Boston Celtics it would be a great fit. We say that about many players because so many guys can fit in their system, but Hachimura really would compare to most prospects.
His ability to attack you off the dribble on offense and defend you on the other end make him tough to match up with. He has shown he can defend smaller players as well as occasionally matches up with bigger players inside.
