NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 1.0
By Chris Kern
Luguentz Dort is an exciting draft prospect who gets slept on when discussing the top guys in this draft. He is still unsure about whether or not he will declare for the draft, but if he does he certainly has a chance to go in the first round.
His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor makes him very exciting to watch. One area he does struggle in is his three-point shooting as he made just 31% of his shots from beyond the arc this season. That is one reason why he may consider going back to school.
Besides some shooting struggles, he certainly did have a very good freshman season. In 34 games this season he averaged 16.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. His ability to impact the game in so many ways is why he has the potential to be great.
He also would be a good fit with the Milwaukee Bucks. They have some question marks surrounding Khris Middleton heading into free agency and while he is expected to be back it certainly never hurts to have a backup plan just in case.
The Bucks have had a big year under Mike Budenholzer and they have done so largely with their three-point shooting so Dort isn’t necessarily a great fit in that offense. His ability to play multiple positions will make him a good player off the bench for any team and the Bucks would benefit from another valuable backup on the wing.
