NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 1.0
By Chris Kern
Jaxson Hayes is a very exciting player who has completely risen up draft boards throughout the season. He has shown off his potential during his season at Texas and while it hasn’t led to a lot of team success, he certainly will be better off going forward because of it.
He had a very good season, but he did suffer a knee injury that NBA teams will need to monitor throughout the draft process. At the moment it doesn’t seem serious, but even if it’s not it could be enough to drop him further down in the draft.
He averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game this season. He only attempted 5.3 shots per game, but he did make 73% of them which is an insane percentage no matter the circumstances.
The Charlotte Hornets are a possible landing spot for him, but a lot of that has to do with Kemba Walker. If they’re concerned that he will leave in free agency then they certainly will try and find a possible replacement in the draft.
