NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 1.0
By Chris Kern
Admiral Schofield would be a good fit in the San Antonio Spurs organization. He is a tough wing who gets it done on both ends of the floor. His greatest attribute might be his ability to make shots in the clutch. It certainly will be more difficult at the next level, but anybody who can hit the number of tough shots he did can be trusted to contribute.
He had a good college career and he took it to another level during his senior season. In 37 games this season he averaged 16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. He shot 47% from the field including 42% from three-point range. His ability to score the ball will translate to the next level.
The Spurs always rely on tough-minded players and that is exactly what Schofield brings. They dealt with many injuries this season so if they could draft someone late in the first round that can help out next season that would be a huge plus. It’s possible he won’t make a big impact right away, but if they do need him too he certainly has the college experience needed to be prepared for the NBA.
He does have some areas he needs to work on to become successful, but he is more than capable of doing so. His ability to knock down shots will only get him so far. He is an exciting player who will have a long career, but don’t be completely shocked if he has to spend a large amount of time in the G-League.
