NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 1.0
By Chris Kern
Carsen Edwards absolutely put on a show during the NCAA Tournament. He has had an amazing college career, but during those few games in March, he was able to rise up draft boards a lot. The Golden State Warriors will certainly take notice and maybe he will be their selection.
During this season he averaged 24.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He did a lot for his Purdue team as he carried them for much of the season. The Warriors are a team that lights up the scoreboard with guys such as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Maybe Carsen Edwards could be another splash brother off the bench.
There are many concerns about his size, but there’s nobody questioning his ability to score the basketball. He has done enough to warrant first-round consideration which is why he came back to school in the first place. He still could go back to college, but after the NCAA Tournament he had, he certainly should declare for the draft.
His tournament run will be remembered for a long time. In the four games, he averaged 34.8 points per game including two 42 point performances. He made 28 three-pointers during those four games which will excite the Warriors. If Golden State wants to draft someone who can light up the scoreboard, then Carsen Edwards is their guy.
