Tennessee. Grant Williams. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Forward. 27. 147

Grant Williams had a very good career at Tennessee after not being highly recruited out of high school. He won his second straight SEC Player of the Year award so there isn’t really much left for him to accomplish personally at the college level. His ability to dominate the game in the paint makes him very exciting.

He does have some flaws that need to be worked on though.  He is undersized for a big man and he doesn’t have all the tools to be successful on the win. The way he dominates the game inside makes him valuable though as he certainly has the chance to be successful in that way. Going against professional athletes inside will be tough, but he dominated the college game when he wasn’t expected to so nobody should count him out.

During this past season, he averaged 18.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. He impacts the game in so many different ways that all NBA scouts like to say. He isn’t much of a three-point shooter so expect that to be his main focus as he continues to develop himself into an NBA player.

The Brooklyn Nets have had a very exciting season. They are likely going to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 playoffs and they have a lot to build on going forward despite the future looking very bleak just recently. This is a team with a lot of solid players and Williams will fit right into that off of the bench. He likely wouldn’t play a big role, but he is a guy who can help any NBA team when if he’s given a chance.
