The Memphis Grizzlies had an amazing offensive performance in their season finale against Golden State. Jevon Carter’s career-high led them to the win.

The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t had their key players out there recently, but they have still played a very fun brand of basketball. Many guys had big games as Justin Holiday, Jevon Carter, and Bruno Caboclo all stood out. Some of these players won’t be back next season, but the guys who are back will likely form this team’s second unit.

This is a team that went through big changes prior to this season and those changes continued to occur throughout the year. They expected to contend for the playoffs and after that wasn’t possible they traded Marc Gasol among others to start the rebuild. It was almost like a headstart on free agency as a large amount of these new guys could stick around to form the majority of the Grizzlies bench.

They all had some struggles throughout the season, but they did play well to end it including this impressive performance against Golden State. The Warriors weren’t locked in trying to compete, but nonetheless, it was an impressive performance from so many of the Grizzlies young guys.

For a team that went through the ups and downs they did, it was good to see them end it with an offensive outburst like they did, to get the fans excited for next season. We may never see Mike Conley in a Grizzlies uniform again, but this team is full of young guys who make this team exciting.

Four different players scored over 18 points in this game as they did a very good job making shots in this game. Justin Holiday scored 22, Bruno Caboclo scored 21, and Tyler Dorsey scored 18. Delon Wright also picked up his third triple-double in four games as he finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

All of those players have played well, but we saw a breakout game from Jevon Carter. Obviously, you can’t put to much stock into just one game, but he has continued to improve to end the season and he really put it all together in this game. He has been great defensively all season, but in this game, he was great offensively as well.

In this game, he finished with 32 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. He was shooting the ball very well as this was the best game of his NBA career. He was 10-18 shooting, including 8-12 from three-point range. Coming into this game he had only been shooting 28% from the field and 29% from three-point range so this was a perfect way for him to end the season.

The Grizzlies as a team had some of the same success as it was one of their best offensive games in franchise history. They set many franchise records such as most points in a half and most three-pointers made in a game. They went 21-46 from three-point range en route to their 132-117 win.

This was a disappointing season in a lot of ways for the Grizzlies, but there are still plenty of positives as well. So many young guys stepped up and it looks like the 2018 NBA Draft was a success with their selections of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jevon Carter. The future is bright in Memphis, with or without, Mike Conley.
