The Memphis Grizzlies had an up and down season and no player fits into that more than Chandler Parsons. He missed a large part of the season before returning and showing he still has some skill.

Chandler Parsons‘ stint with the Memphis Grizzlies has been full of drama for many reasons, but he has continued to come out and give it his all to this organization. His health has held him back these past three seasons, but he continues to put in the work and he had some good moments down the stretch of the season.

This season he played in 25 games averaging 7.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game on 37% shooting and 31% from three-point range. His numbers weren’t good, but he fit in really well to the group of guys they had to close out the season.

He had high hopes coming into this season as he was in the starting lineup to start the year. It wouldn’t last long though as he was injured in just the third game which would keep him out for an extended period of time.

Parsons wouldn’t return until after the offseason as he actually spent a large amount of time away from the team as they felt that is what was best. He was rumored in trade targets so that’s part of it, but he also wasn’t a part of the rotation and was unwilling to go down to the G-League without a timetable in place.

His time with the Grizzlies has been a big disappointment, but that doesn’t mean he can’t contribute. When you look past the contract and just look at the player you see a guy worthy of a roster spot and a guy who can contribute some when given a chance, and that’s exactly what he did.
