Strengths

Chandler Parsons didn’t have a lot of strengths that will show up in the stat sheet and really stand out. That doesn’t mean he didn’t contribute though because we saw he was a good veteran to have on the floor late in the season with all the young guys.

One statistical area he did do well in is his free-throw shooting. It was a small sample size for sure, but he made 88% when his career average is just 71% so he clearly was doing something right.

His shot has struggled throughout his Grizzlies career, but he did get going a little bit to end the season, especially in April. In his four games he played in the month of April he made 2.3 three-pointers per game at a 47% clip.

It’s not a large sample size for either of those statistics, but when a player has gone through the injuries that he has you have to count the small victories. He knows he’s not the player he once was, but he’s just out there trying to help the team win so there’s no need to hate on this man.

Parsons isn’t going out on the floor trying to prove himself or live up to his contract. He came to work every day and helped the team out on and off the floor. His play late in the season was very helpful for the young guys and is enough to show he’s worthy of a roster spot next season. We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out, but he enjoys playing with his teammates on the Grizzlies so he deserves our support the rest of the time he is here.
