Strengths

Tyler Dorsey had a productive 21 games with the Grizzlies. His ability on the offensive end was on full display as he had multiple games where he put up big numbers. One of the ways he was effective was he improved his three-point shooting from 26% in Atlanta, to 37% in Memphis.

That was more like the first season of the season, but it was still good to see him get back on track with the Grizzlies. He was knocking down shots from beyond the arc, but the bigger strength of his may be his ability to finish in traffic around the rim.

For a smaller combo guard who isn’t an elite shooter you have to be able to score the ball in other ways and that’s what he can do. He will struggle against top notch defenders, but his ability to score the basketball was perfect for the role he was in.

One of his strengths that wasn’t always seen at times was his ability to hit big shots. He isn’t afraid to take a big shot down the stretch and while he did miss a game-winner this season, him being willing to take that shot is impressive.

The Grizzlies have dealt with so many injuries this season and it’s been tough for the players to deal with. Dorsey just came in and did his job from the get-go and that’s why he was rewarded with a starting spot. If he’s back in Memphis next season, expect him to be a good talented offensive player off of the bench.
