The Memphis Grizzlies may have discovered a gem in Bruno Caboclo. In just a short stint with the team, he showed he can be a valuable NBA player.
Bruno Caboclo has bounced around the NBA the past few years, but he appears to have finally found a role with the Memphis Grizzlies. After getting some Kevin Durant comparisons after he was drafted he has finally started to show off some of that potential.
He was signed to a 10-day contract and after his second 10-day contract with the team, he was able to earn a multi-year deal to remain in Memphis. His ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor is legit and will give him a chance to find a role for the long haul in Memphis.
This season he played in 34 games with the Grizzlies including being a starter in 19 of them. He is known as a small forward, but with the way the game is changing he has shown he is more than capable of being a power forward.
In those 34 games, Caboclo averaged 8.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists. His ability to impact the game in so many ways is why he was given a chance in Memphis. This team doesn’t have many young guys to build around so if he can live up to the hype he has a chance to be a valuable player going forward.
He had a lot of struggles throughout the season, but he continued to improve as the season went along. HIs length really benefited him and he was able to use that to his advantage. If he can continue to build off of this season, expect him to remain with the Grizzlies as they start the next chapter of their franchise.
