NBA Draft 2019: 5 Potential Second Round Steals

The Memphis Grizzlies don’t currently have a second round pick, but they are more than capable of acquiring one if they would like to. Here are five prospects they could be second-round steals.

The Memphis Grizzlies have a lot of work to do this offseason. They have to build a coaching staff as well as a good roster to build forward with for that coaching staff. With the possibility to convey the pick to Boston they need to be prepared to find a steal in the second round.

They currently don’t have a second round pick, but those are easy enough to acquire if they do have a guy they would like to draft. You can always just straight up buy a pick from someone or you could just give up a future second rounder to make it happen.

The top of the draft is where the difference makers are at with guys such as Zion Williamson and Ja Morant at the top, but it is some of the later guys who can help take franchises to the next level. You should be able to get a good player in the lottery but finding quality players, later on, make a big difference.

They have a chance to secure a top player in this class if the ping pong balls go there way, but they have just over a 25% chance of getting a top-four pick so they need to be prepared to get some impact players later on.

This team is building around Jaren Jackson Jr. and they need to get as much young talent as possible to put around him. They have a solid core with other guys such as Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson, but they need more than that if they’re going to become a playoff team. All five of these players will receive some consideration from teams with first-round picks, but at least a few of these guys will drop to the second round.
