The Memphis Grizzlies may have found their next superstar in Jaren Jackson Jr. Here’s a look back at his dominant rookie season.

Jaren Jackson Jr. showed off his superstar potential during his rookie season with the Memphis Grizzlies. Some people questioned them when he was their 4th overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft, but the initial returns have been fantastic.

His fantastic season has helped the Grizzlies move on from Marc Gasol and has them in a spot that they’re comfortable moving on from Mike Conley as well if they get good value in a trade back. They’re ready to give Jackson the keys to the franchise.

He had a good rookie season, but he was limited to just 58 games due to injury, but that isn’t expected to be a concern at all going forward into next season. In those games, he averaged 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.

He has some areas he needs to work on, but overall it was a successful rookie season for the former Michigan State Spartan. A big reason many questioned the Grizzlies decision to draft him was that he didn’t have a big role in the offense and wasn’t able to showcase the skill set he has since he has arrived in Memphis.

He is just 19 years old still so he has a lot of time to grow and develop. If he continues to work hard and improve he has a chance to be a perennial all-star in this league. Here’s a look back at his rookie season with a SWOT Analysis to break it down.
