Jaren Jackson Jr., the Next Face of the Memphis Grizzlies

If the Memphis Grizzlies are truly all-in on Jaren Jackson Jr. being the franchise’s face moving into this next era, then they should have no issue with sending “Triple-J” to the NBA Draft Lottery on May 14th.

Memphis was cautious with Jackson Jr. in the second-half of the season after he sustained a minor injury. They did not want their prized possession to suffer a more severe injury by playing through the ailment, which is smart, considering the Grizzlies did not have much to play for by the time February’s slate of games arrived on the schedule.

This would be a big opportunity for Jaren and the Memphis Grizzlies organization. Both parties would get more attention and recognition in the national spotlight. Plus, it would be further confirmation to Jackson Jr. that the franchise is confident in his ability to represent Memphis, Tennessee now and moving forward.

Jaren Jackson Jr. already has the franchise player persona. He is extremely personable. He is energetic. Jaren is incredibly likable. It would be a perfect event for the Grizzlies to send their star rookie — a very lucky and talented 19-year-old — in hopes to land his future counterpart with a top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
