Kevin Porter Jr. is a guy who could come in and contribute off the bench some for a team that will be back in the playoff picture next season. He does have some weaknesses that may keep him from securing a big role right away.
During his lone season at USC, he averaged 9.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He did play in just 21 games due to injuries and other issues as well. He didn’t have the season he was expecting to, but he still showed his potential at times. His 52% shooting from the free-throw line won’t cut it, but his 41% shooting from three-point range shows he is a good shooter so he will need to just put in the time required to improve.
The San Antonio Spurs having two first-round picks gives them a chance to really add to their roster. They have some good young players with Derrick White and Dejounte Murray to go with their two stars in Demar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, but they still have work to do.
They lost to the Denver Nuggets in seven games in the first round, but they were in a good position to be able to win that series. If they can make some good moves this offseason they could have enough to get over the hump and adding Kevin Porter Jr. to the mix would help them do that.
