The Memphis Grizzlies are set to select their next point guard of the future in Ja Morant with the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft which opens the door for a Mike Conley trade. There have been some rumors of team’s that will be interested while many others will consider getting a deal done.
During the season there were many teams pursuing him with some teams even putting together official trade packages. The Grizzlies are looking for pick(s) and young players in return as they look to build a young core to go forward with.
They already have a young cornerstone to build around in Jaren Jackson Jr. to go along with the expected No. 2 pick in Ja Morant. Those teams are expected to be the faces of the franchise for the next long haul. They have some other quality players such as Dillon Brooks and Kyle Anderson who can play a role going forward, but they still have some roles that need to be filled for them to have success.
Some of their key players are set for free agency including Delon Wright and Jonas Valanciunas so those players might also need to be replaced going forward. Those two were brought in to help stabilize things going forward, but that was before they landed the second pick in the draft.
