NBA Draft 2019: Mock Draft 3.0
Kentucky’s Tyler Herro is one prospect who has picked up a lot of momentum in the last few weeks as the 2019 NBA Draft approaches. He made a name for himself in one season with the Wildcats, averaging 14.0 points (46.2% overall shooting, 35.5% from three-point land) to go with 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals in 32.6 minutes per game.
His freshman season demonstrated that he is not afraid of logging bit minutes in big moments. Plus, he is not going to shy away from the thought of being handed big minutes from Day One if that is the case for his NBA beginning. He may still be a raw talent, but Herro is as good as any prospect when examining a Draft prospect’s confidence.
Herro is more than your average shooting guard prospect. While he can shoot and score, he excels on the drive and is an above-average passer-playmaker to boot. Though Kentucky had a slew of NBA hopefuls on this past season’s roster, Herro emerged as an MVP candidate for them. He can do some of everything, even at 195 pounds. A little bit of weight could go a long way, but his floor right now is a solid role player in the NBA. Expect Herro to be — at worst — one of the league’s most dependable shooting guards five years from now.
