Bol Bol

At the No. 23 pick, it is not a major risk to swing for the fences and bet on potential. If Bol Bol somehow falls to this particular pick, the Memphis Grizzlies absolutely need to take the chance.

Bol Bol has top-10 talent, but due to injury concerns, he could very well fall on Draft Night. Even if long-term injury concerns are legitimate, the benefits far outweigh the risk at No. 23. Memphis should go ahead and take him and hope for the best.

The Grizzlies already have one “unicorn” type of player on their roster in Jaren Jackson Jr., and Bol Bol could be a second. It would be a twin towers pairing. Bol is accustomed to shooting from outside, yet stands at 7’2″ in height. Plus, he has a 235-pound frame, which will enabled him to battle for boards while not getting totally bullied in the paint. He is athletic and can dribble to boot.

The talent is there, but the real unknown is how long can Bol Bol last in the NBA amid any knee and/or foot issues. He was limited to just nine games at Oregon as a collegiate freshman, and this has lowered his NBA Draft stock to this point. If he continues to slide, he could very well be available by the time the Grizzlies get back on the draft board.
