Anthony Tolliver

To boost the Memphis Grizzlies’ secondary unit, they would be smart to pursue Anthony Tolliver, who spent the 2018-19 season as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tolliver would be an addition that would not break the bank and could become an easy win of a signing. He is notorious for being one of the best teammates around the league, plus he bares a lot of experience an guidance for the league’s young players. Anthony continues to be the Treasurer of the NBA Players Association.

It is not all about locker room presence for Tolliver, who appeared in 65 games and shot a respectable 37.7% from three-point land this past season. For a Grizzlies team that ranked 25th of 30 clubs in three-point shooting, Tolliver could definitely provide a boost in this department.

Additionally, Tolliver is a hustle player who makes his money off dives, deflections, running back on defense, setting screens, and taking charges. He is a total team player. His game oozes of grit and grind. To this day, it is surprising he has never landed with the Grizzlies in his 11 NBA seasons because he exemplifies what it means to be a Memphis Grizzly.

Tolliver is able to play three positions. Regardless of which he is placed upon checking into the game, he stretches the floor and wears down opponents due to his hustle and never-quit attitude. This type of player truly boosts morale and can really set the tone for the young guys around him season-in and season-out.

As Tolliver begins to think about retirement, the Grizzlies need to think about adding him to their roster before it is too late. He has a lot of knowledge to spread to young, up-and-coming players, but it is up to Memphis to embark upon it prior to Anthony calling it quits. This would be a lot of bang per buck, and a team such as the Golden State Warriors may already be in pursuit.
