The NBA released their annual GM survey recently, and judging by the results, everybody seems pretty high on the Memphis Grizzlies’ upside going into the 2019-2020 NBA season.

Every year, the NBA conducts a survey on their GM’s that cover a variety of topics spanning across the entire league. This year, there was the usual mix of answers that were no surprise, maybe a few dark horse picks, and the normal out-of-nowhere answer.

On the normal side, 86% of GM’s said that they’d want to start a franchise around Giannis Antetokounmpo, that James Harden is the most frustrating to coach against, and of course, everybody is currently loving Zion Williamson.

On the more obscure side, an impressive 74% of GM’s said that the Philadelphia 76ers are the best team in the East, that just 14% think the Los Angeles Lakers are the best team in the West, and that Antetokounmpo got more votes for best center in the league than Karl-Anthony Towns.

One interesting through line in the survey surrounded the players on the Memphis Grizzlies. What becomes more and more clear as the season draws closer is that a majority of GMs around the league seem to think that the Grizzlies are one of the teams with the highest potential.
