The NBA season is finally here! How does the positional breakdown for the Memphis Grizzlies look? Today, we look at the guard position.
The NBA regular season is here, and while the Grizzlies have some roster decisions left to make, the guard positions seem to be set. The roster currently contains six players listed as guards, with a few others that may see minutes at a guard spot. Each player appears to be in position to contribute this coming season, and the rotation will likely fluctuate throughout the year.
With Mike Conley gone to Utah, this season will present Memphis with the most uncertainty it’s had at the guard spot in a long time. Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks are expected to be the starters this season. The Grizzlies are planning to play with a much faster pace under new coach Taylor Jenkins, and the guard rotation will play a key role in his system.
From the explosiveness of Morant to the shooting prowess of Marko Guduric, the Grizzlies have a wide array of skills available in the rotation. However, the rotation is very young and still has much to prove. As the rebuild begins, each player should see plenty of chances to play. Here’s a look into what the Grizzlies guards could bring to the team for the 2019-2020 season.
