The Memphis Grizzlies will be looking to make a splash with their revamped roster. Today, Beale Street Bears will be looking at the wing position.

This year, the wing position will serve as the Memphis Grizzlies’ veteran position. All of the players in this rotation have at least 5 years of NBA experience. Typically a five year career is seen as young, but this team is extremely inexperienced. The veterans on the wing will provide the team with knowledge, and a lot of positional flexibility as the Grizzlies aim to move toward a pace-and-space offense.

The wings in this rotation will help players of other positions thrive by shifting up and down the lineup. Kyle Anderson can serve as a ballhandler while he’s on the court, opening things up for the guards. Bruno Caboclo will be a defensive menace, using his absurd length to help protect the paint. Jae Crowder will bring intensity and shooting, things that can help regardless of who he shares the court with. Solomon Hill can bring some shooting as well.

This rotation may look drastically different by the end of the season. Jae Crowder is an appealing trade piece, and the Grizzlies will definitely explore his market. If he shows some consistency, Hill may be moved, too. Josh Jackson may make his way back up from the G League if he shows some improvement. Regardless of what happens, the wing position will be important for the team.
