2. Jae Crowder

The oldest and most experienced player on the roster, Jae Crowder is a player that embodies Memphis’ culture. A tough, gritty defender, Crowder has a reputation as a wrecking ball on the court. His energy and intensity will serve the Grizzlies well off the bench. He and Grayson Allen will be fun to watch if they share minutes.

Offensively, Crowder will serve as a shooting option, a role he has played pretty effectively during his career. He shot 35% on 6.5 attempts from deep in the preseason, which is a good sign. Both of those numbers are slightly above his career averages, and would make his impact on the team even larger if he maintains them.

Crowder brings some flexibility to the Grizzlies, as he can play at either forward position. He is capable of switching onto every position on defense. Crowder is the true definition of a hustle player, and will bring swagger to the court every time he checks in. He won’t back down from a challenge. He’ll be a great leader for the young Grizzlies.

Many consider Crowder a solid trade option for the Grizzlies, and it’s understandable to see why. He’s a prototypical 3-and-D wing in a league that highly values those players. While Crowder may not finish the season in Memphis, it’s guaranteed that he will give the team his all during his time there.
