June 13th, 2019

This was the day the dynasty crumbled. A surging Kawhi Leonard, the culmination of a breakout year from Pascal Siakam, the sixth man heroics of Fred VanVleet; it was all too much for the Kevin Durant-less Warriors, and the Raptors would win the NBA Finals in six games, with a final score of 114-110.

Chances are, this loss didn’t sit too well with Iguodala. A three-time NBA Champion, Finals MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year, all signs seem to point towards the fact that Iguodala would want to end his illustrious career hoisting up the Larry O’Brien trophy.

There’s a chance that if KD had stayed healthy, and if Klay Thompson had stayed healthy, and if Kevon Looney had stayed healthy, that the Warriors may have been able to get by the Raptors. There’s a chance that, had that happened, Iguodala would’ve announced that he was retiring, or that the upcoming season would be his last, and he’d take a victory tour with the Warriors.

But those things didn’t happen. Instead, the Warriors lost, and then we got this thing…
