Andre Iguodala has been a thorn in the side of the Memphis Grizzlies since his accquisiton. With all trade restrictions being lifted today, who are the front runners for the Iggy sweepstakes?
As soon as Andre Iguodala was traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Memphis Grizzlies on July 7, questions were raised as to what exactly would his role be on a rebuilding Memphis squad. Would he be the experienced veteran looking to be a mentor to a young and impressive squad? Would he be he LeBron of the team, trying his best to put everyone on his shoulders and carry them to the postseason? Was this going to be his Russel Westbrook-esque revenge tour against the team that traded him after years of loyalty?
Turns out, none of thee above.
Instead, Iggy made it clear that — in what is potentially his last season — he wanted to play for a contender. Now, after a long month in which the Grizzlies could’ve used Iguodala as they’ve started out with a 9-17 record, and the trade restriction on recently acquired players is now lifted, it’s time to evaluate who the front runners for Iguodala could be.
